Hand In Hand Foundation's heartbeat is permanence in children's lives that have come out of hard places. We have served locally in California providing adoption services and overseas in private family-style orphanages providing therapeutic education and consultation.
Change is a constant that we have had to operate within. In August of 2022, we made a hard decision to begin closing our private adoption program. We have struggled significantly over the past 4 years to financially sustain an effective adoption agency which led to not renewing our state license in 2023. We started referring families to other agencies for adoption services and to use the remaining resources to ensure the few families with children we had in process could be completed, our last adoption happening in January of 2023.
David Boschen, LMFT has been the agency director since 2006. He will continue working in the field of adoption, being employed by other agencies to serve families in the Bay Area including Santa Cruz and Monterey vicinities. He also will continue as an Adoption Service Providers (ASP) supporting Birth Parents in making the best decision for their child and themselves through advisement, counseling and emotional support. For more information you can email him at davidboschen.mft@gmail.com.
We would like you to have access to agencies that can be of support in your adoption journey. You can go to the California Association of Adoption Agencies ( https://www.california-adoptions.org/find-an-agency/agency-map-by-county ) to determine agencies licensed in your county. David Boschen would be available for a consultation for a personalized conversation in person or via Zoom on an hourly basis. There is so much information when searching the web, but it can save a significant amount of time for a short conversation to determine your best adoption plan.
We will continue as partners with orphanages in other countries by supporting their plans of permanence within their own children of hard places. You are invited to be partner in our global support of orphaned and abandoned children who are now members of family-style home orphanages located in Romania, Thailand, Africa and possibly the Ukraine. These rescued children now have active healing-parent's committed to raising them, often being the extended family for the child's lifetime. Your partnership can be a tax-deductible financial gift or possible service opportunities in one of these family village locations.
We want to thank the families and the agencies we have partnered with over these past 16 years. We are grateful to know that over 450 children were given a permanent home by adoption.
